Quick ceiling light wiring question.

1st point to make is I have made the rookie error of dismantling everything before fitting as thought it would be a like for like. I have also reviewed a few other threads but I can’t seem to quite find an answer of how to wire into my particular light fitting (B & Q so assume it must be a fairly common standard?)

Existing Wiring;

2x Red

2x Black (of which one has a red sleeve on so assume it is the switched one)

2x Yellow and Green.

New Light Fitting:

3 Terminals only;

L – Manual states Red (or brown)

Earth – Green/Yellow

N – Blue and Black

I am thinking i will probably need to get an additional connector box to tidy things up possibly.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Black with red sleeve ( switched live)to live terminal.
Black ( neutral ) to neutral terminal.
Earths to earth terminal.
The two reds do not connect to fitting,but go together in a third terminal block ,within the fittings housing.

Wow, thats awesome. Thank you for the quick reply. I had half guessed at that but wasn't quite brave enough to go for it.

Would you recommend wrapping the 2 reds (within their terminal block) with electrical tape or just in the blocks all good? Will be in a metal light fitting.

I would rather use a wago ,rather than a screw down terminal block ,but you can if you want.Electrical tape doesn't do much ,but it wouldn't do any harm.
