Good afternoon all on a soggy bank holiday
I know this question has been asked a thousand times so please forgive me for asking it again.
I have a 1930’s detatched property which has the loft hatch in the bathroom.
As I am installinfg a new ceiling I want to move the hatch to the hallway as not to disturb any of my family who like to take marathon bath sessions for hours at a time
The loftspace is made up of joists at 320mm centres with a ceiling binder on each side.
To the centre is a single prop.
Please see photos and drawing. The blue tape indicates the new proposed hatch position and tape markers over the ceiling binder indicqate joist positions.
I intend to cut 2 x joists. My conceren is the proximity of the prop and ceiling binder to the hatch and if it will weaken the roof structure. If anybody has any daft electrical questions then please feel free to fire away
Apoligies again for the daft question. If anybody has any daft electrical questions then please feel free to fire away
