Hi, At the back of our house we have a downstairs bathroom with a door leading off to a seperate toilet, over the last few weeks theres been a nasty smell in the bathroom which seems to come and go at various times of the day and night.The kitchen is next to the bathroom and the waste from the sink and dishwasher goes behind the units then meets up with the bath and sink waste before joining onto the toilet waste that just dissapears into the ground.Ive checked all the traps and there fine no smell is coming from plugholes or the toilet itself.I cant find a drain cover in the garden anywhere or in nextdoors garden.The guttering on the bathroom roof also goes straight into the ground(i hope your not eating when you read this next bit) before the smell came i noticed there was a few leaves in the gutter and about 1metre away a 100mm hole with leaves in,so in goes my hand to clear away the leaves all the way to my elbow and at the bottom i found what i can only describe as a choccy bar without the wrapper 
thank god i had gloves on.Any ideas where the smell is coming from and should there be a manhole cover somewhere in the garden ?? thanks for any help
