Hello petrol heads! This is not my usual hang-out, but I'm after a bit of info for a friend

Their car has failed the MOT on " ... nearside front u mount to lower arm bolt broken anti roll bar attachment bracket mounting insecure"
I think the car is a Saxo.

Anyway, this sounds just like a bracket on the chasis which hols the anti-roll bar. I have not seen it

They have been quoted "About £300, depending on how easy it is to get the bolt out"

I thought this was way too much, so can anyone advise if this likely to be is too much, if it is just an anti-roll bar mounting?

I've always found typical work to anti-roll bars and lower arms etc to be relatively straight forward, so should not cost much for the part, not for the time.

Cheers

Sounds expensive to me. It sounds like maybe the bracket has come loose. Maybe needs welding back on. I've just had both anti roll bar bushes and drop links replaced on a Chrysler Voyager for £270 incl. parts at a main dealer.

Sounds about £280 too pricey to me!

the "U" clamp is held on by 2 bolts, so cant see that costing £300!
