hi everyone

my relative is installing satellite and aerial tv for years and is considering supplying CCTV packages in response to the increase in burglaries  .

could you please suggest some entry level CCVT kits that offer value and reliability.

the following features would be desirable:

standalone system
digital recorder with extended recording times
compact cameras with night time vision - see pic attached
camera with ability to record audio as well as visual

your thoughts would be really appreciated

thanks for reading :)

regards s

Well buying kits in and reselling will not give a great deal of profit if not bought from the importers.
You need to be talking to local (Irish) importers and seeing what deals they can give you.

Maybe you could get a kit designed for your own preferences.
Look for decent quality cameras. At least a 500GB DVR, with some form of remote phone viewing and of course Internet capability.

You could also look at offsite recording so there is always an evidence trail, as it is not unheard of the DVR being stolen along with other belongings.

Good luck.

thanks for your suggestion. it would be a new venture so i'd say a few kits would be trialed initially. cheers s

thanks for all your help.

one final detail regarding camera. are they available with voice recording facilities as standard and if not, how would accommodate this feature while keeping costs down? would it be as simple as using an external microphone with a feed back to the recorder?

thanks again

If not built in, a bit of Cat 5 with a mic in a suitable housing. You could "borrow" the power from the camera. Then to the line in at the DVR.
Take note not all camera inputs may have sound facility. Check with the DVR.
