Hello , never used the stuff but anyway I recently spent a considerable amount of time attempting to strip as much of the Weathershield/Sandtex type paints that have been applied in the past and every time it has resulted in the paint bubbling up, peeling , cracking and letting in moisture from the rain after a few years so i thought of using breathable paint such as Allweather which reputedly lasts for 15 years or so and repels rain water. I guess my question is regarding preparation. Some of the joints need repointing and one of the window trays needs replacing as water is somehow getting through it and creating damp on the top of the window recess inside. Would i be advised to apply a mist coat first before two coats Allweather? Thanks

Why not remove paint then treat bricks with something like storm seal

Because i had a hell of a job at some expense using paint strippers to get rid of what I did

My comment is because of the degradation to bricks caused by painting.
There are companies that will steam wash paint off which works well i hear but I'm yet to see it done.I don't know what that costs.
As for which paint, I don't know which is best to prevent your problem. Maybe none of them.
All you can do is read up and maybe phone the paint technical helpline..
