Anyone heard or know where I can get 'pre-compressed wood'?

Apparently it's steamed & sealed in plastic. Then when openend, it's ready to be bent in a cold state without further steaming....

Can't track it down in the UK but I doo seem to remember an article on it in Furniture & Cabinet Making Mag a while ago. You could try asking on one of the more woodwork based forums such as

I've handled the stuff.

It's beech that has compressed fibres or some such, you can just bend it like hard rubber, though my sample became brittle over a number of years and harder to bend.
