Anyone know how to take this apart?!

External light. Managed to remove the top, take out all the screws I can see. But I can't seem to separate the two 'halves' of the lantern.

Tried unscrewing it from the little plate at the bottom, but it won't shift. Thought a bit of brute force might force them apart, but alas no

Any help much appreciated!! Makes painting it easier and quicker without getting it on the glass

Is it nylon or metal?
The baseplate looks as if the two halves might butterfly close, and the area with the brass acts as a cap?

It's metal. I can't move anything anywhere atm. I agree though!

Silly question, but your third image still shows a couple of screws. Have you undone those?

Yes they're undone now. It allows the top halves to separate slightly, but they're still connected at the bottom
