Anyone know where I can get a Wylex Circuit Breaker

I thought they were all type 1's and 2's ?

Got a 32A kicking around, but not 40's.

I'd check that the board in question will actually take a 40A MCB...

Although you really shouldn't be mixing brands...

maverickone, have you checked wether your CU is designed for more than one 40A outgoing way yet? I'm pretty sure it isn't.

Really? So wylex type test their CUs to ensure they comly with the relevant british standards, even when fitted with a proteus MCB?

weren't
type 2 etc BS3871
type b etc BS60898
Also different brands have different fault ratings varying from about 1ka to 10ka
EDIT
Meant ka

Not different brands as such, you need to have an MCB with adequate fault rating, think you mean kA ;)
You can look at the DNO cutout fuse providing backup protection too.
Square D do a couple of different ranges - KQ are 10kA and SQO are 6kA iirc.
If a wylex MCB fits in a Wylex board and are available, why fit anything else? I am pretty confident I can fit a set of prongs to a MG breaker and fit it into a Square D board but that will mean the board is not fully type tested (even though the breakers themselves are identical down to the fact the locators are there for the shrouds to fit).
Personally I think a different brand breaker shoved in looks shoddy too.

No, they are not the same as in the characteristics of operation differ. What is it for?
