My boiler, an Apollo Fanfare 30/50 Si, is about 17 years old and will not start on its own. A sharp thump on the side of the casing will usually induce it to start up. I have lubricated the fan and this spins freely and the circulation pump appears to be working OK. If the pressure switch is tapped with a screwdriver this will also induce the boiler to fire up. I did replace the pressure switch two years ago and it has been working fine until recently. Any suggestions?
