I bought several of those square appliance trolleys, adjustable with hard plastic rollers. I like the idea of being able to easily move the dishwasher, freezer and cooker without scraping the varnished floor.

The kitchen fitter maintains that they are only suppose to be used temporarily. But it is a lot of work getting the appliances on and off, which defeats the object.

is there a good reason not to fit them permanently?

no, I can adjust things around them. The FF is tall, anyway.

There were cooker ones available ( movealock base)they had to be locking dropping the appliance to the floor off the wheels when I'm use, frankly they were never really up to the job. The appliances will be unstable if not sitting on fixed feet.

The original reason was to prevent instability and the cheap nylon wheels used to develop flat spots making it difficult to roll.
