Hi
I have done some extensive restoration work in my old house and most of the wood I've finished with coloured Danish oil rag n wet n dry paper applied. The finish is amazing even my decorator who does my wallpapering wanted to know exactly how it was done (check me eh, knob ed).
I'm now doing my front door and have Sikkens Cetol stain (exterior protective oil based woodstain, im not on about wood dye) I want to use but I'm nervous about stain and brushing and making a mess as I've never done it. I've done extensive painting but stain is different.
Could I apply it with a rag in the same way as with Danish oil?
If so any down sides? Would the coats be thinner and require more etc
Cheers
