Hi,
I have a multi faceted roof in the Scottish Borders, with 3 faces surrounding a flat roof section, which is largely invisible from the ground. Current roof is pretty tired so thinking about DIYing these parts due to easy access/invisibility and I have a few questions:
1) any opinions on GRP Vs EDPM for the flat section in this context? Might take occasional foot traffic/slipped slates.
2) given non visibility, should I use something cheaper and easier to work with other than slate, even synthetic plastic slate and recover the slate for the rest of the roof. Any suggestions?
3) if one side is slate and the other side something much lighter, will this cause any structural issues with asymmetric loading?
Chris
