Aqua stop....

I have noticed that some of the more exspensive washing machines come with a built in "Aqua stop" or water cut off. My wife asked if I could fit an external device. Has anyone out there done this ? After some of our recent renovating disasters

I can understand my wifes thinking. Thanks for any advice.......Kev......
