i'm planning on fitting a 1200x900 shower unit in my bathroom, i'm a bit unsure as to making the walls waterproof i've seen aquapanel but my walls have already been dry lined, am i right in thinking i can't fix the aquapanl to the walls as they are and i would have to rip the old plater and board off first.
i've also seen waterproof panels but they seem very expensive, any advice please :D

If your walls are dry lined on studwork, you can fix Aquapanel directly over the top but you must pick up on the studwork with the screws.

However in your case & if the existing plasterboard is in good condition, it would be easier to tank the walls using this

& then tile (assuming you want tiles) directly over that; do not tile directly over the existing plaster board even if it is plastered.

Only use a good quality trade flexible adhesive & grout; I always use BAL products but there are others.

or if your using large, heavy tiles

For grout use

Do not risk cheap DIY shed products.

thanks for that info richard thats exactly what i'm looking for, the plaster board has been fixed to the walls with adhesive and then skimmed i didn't want to start ripping it off so tanking it and then tiling it sounds perfect, i used bal adhesive when i fitted my stone fire surround and was impressed with it so i don't mind paying to use bal again, after all it's a job you only want to be doing once :D
