Hi, My Aquarius 1100 washer has a problem taking in the cold water - instead of the normal continuous flow it is stop/start causing a lot of noise from banging pipes. It does this most of the time, but not always - The correct amount of water seems to get loaded and the washing cycles always finish OK. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

This never used to be a problem - the banging pipes is because of the water intake problem. The water intake problem has started since we called an engineer to fix an electrical problem on the washer (the fuse kept blowing) he replaced the brushes and a heater element(I think) which cured the fuse problem. We now have the water problem, the engineer has been back a couple of times, the first visit there was no banging, he suggested the brushes may need 'bedding in' and ran the washer through a cycle with some bleach. On his second visit he heard the noise and said it may be the motor, he left saying that 7 out of 10 times the problem will clear itself, give him a ring in a couple of weeks if the problem persists.
I'm not an expert but his answers do not sound very professional, I posted this query to try and get some understanding of what the problem might be. Any ideas on the cause of the problem(or comments on work already carried out) would be useful.
Thanks
