aquarius dishwasher - no water!

I turned my dishwasher on, plumbers who were installing a new bathroom turned the water off. Since then my dishwasher does not work. The light comes on and no water comes into the machine. Sometimes the pre-wash and wash lights flash together.

please tell me this is a simple problem!

have you checked the little taps are turned on where the m/c connects to the main pipes?

yes, and checked the water pipe is not twisted - I pulled the dishwasher out and tipped it and it seemed to click on - the water which had not left the machine did rinse out - i put the pipe outside.
The machine then appeared to be working normally again but the same thing happened when it tried get rid of the water - the two lights flashed and it stopped working...

Is the pump running, when you start the machine, the first thing is the pump shud run, if it doesnt I would suggest the pump is blocked/broke or the you have water in the base tray, this can be emptied by tipping machine.
