I have built and now plastered the new coat cupboard. Do you normally bother with architraves inside cupboards or just leave the door frame as the finish?

Up to you but in many cases, if you can't actually walk inside the cupboard, no

Often the architrave (and skirting) hides a gap at the end of the plaster.

If it's tidy enough without, you don't need it.

I've got the same and had never even thought about not fitting architrave as well as skirting inside.

I kind of feel like I am cheating by not installing architraves but then you couldn't see the inside of the door unless you climbed inside and that is while it is empty. I haven't moved on to doors yet so don't have any architrave laying around (if i did i would definitely put it on to stop the guilt.
