Before I pull the trigger and order some, here is my garage, well, the opening of it. I only really use the garage for brewing and storage on shelves, but if anything ever gets left on the floor it draws moisture up. Then at the entrance I keep getting water under the door. To try and stop this I put a run of bricks across the front and then painted over some kind of damp proof screed stuff, cannot for the life of me remember what it was. Clearly I did a terrible job (don't judge me, I'm a novice here), and I think the mortar has shrunk at one end and water seeps in through cracks and makes it even more difficult for it to escape than before! At least this is where I think the water is coming in. I'm confident the roof is sound. The garage door is knackered and needs replacing too, we took out the electric mechanism.
My new plan is to Arditex NA the whole floor, up to the bricks, I'm hoping that will stop water ingress and I'm hoping it'll leave a big enough 'lip' at the entrance that I can then remove the bricks... but currently there is a slope down to the entrance, water never comes up higher than the slope as there is that hole which I assume is a drain. I'm slightly worried if I level it and the water stills comes in it will actually fill the garage.
Please can anyone point out any flaws in my plans or better solutions? Is Arditex NA really as good as it seems?
Any pointers much appreciated!
