Are all smoke alarms inter connectable?

Hi

Need to purchase some smoke alarms for our new home but i keep getting told different stories regarding smoke alarms, the main question really is are all smoke alarms you buy inter connectable? As some are saying there not and others saying they are! Just need to clear this up before i go ahead and purchase them!

Not all smoke alarms are interconnectable.

Those that are can only be interconnected with other models from the same manufacturer and range.

Sounds to me like you have just answered your own question
