Being largely a car built and sold to fleets, they are constructed to a price to some degree.....for example the rustproofing is poor towards the rear underside.
They drive very well and are nicely ergonomic (especially the 1.25 petrol).
Problems I've had have just been to the front suspension (knocks from top strut bearing, spring breakage). The bonnet pull is very weak and tends to snap easily, the seat catches fail on the 3 door.
Buy with confidence - there's a dealer on every corner but avoid automatics....depreciation is high but it is one of the top cars in its class.

Daughter has owned one from new, while not the most reliable the cost of parts and repair is quite reasonable.
Definately avoid French cars, just came bottom for reliablity with over 36 percent of them failing their first MOT.
