Are pedestals fairly universal ? ( basin is without a pedestal atm)

Someone gave me a new bathroom Armitage shanks Sandringham 51 basin without a pedestal

Will a random pedestal be ok to use, or are the pedestals fairly specific for the basin shape ?

You'll need a pedestal with the same profile as the basin or expect huge gaps....try to find the genuine item and use white silicone to join them together.

I wish it were that easy; i think they only come as a set

The basin can be secured to the wall with purpose made brackets & support arm,No need for a pedestal.
