Are these dodgy?

They are absolutely fine. I think the ad is quite expensive, I'm sure you can do this for half their price

Eddie: Getting something for nothing that you should otherwise pay for...

Pete: Could maybe do it cheaper but if you want the convenience of it all bundled up ready to go....

Well I doubt Amazon would engage in selling illicit products, but I confess I have never seen the product before let alone use it, so can't comment on its efficacy.

What is it?

Sorry, slow off the mark.

Yeah, it's like a media player with access to all sorts of films and channels, but to me it sounds a bit dodgy.

I don't know why, it just sounds like it's too good to be true, like something you ought to pay a subscription for, but maybe it's a bit like Freeview, I don't know.

I'm not sure whether to invest in one.

Second thoughts, with channels like lubetube and empflix, I'm getting less interested.

The "Free" channels look to be various streaming channels, including plenty of Porn. To build an XBMC (Or Kodi as it is being renamed) media centre is quite easy on a PI. The trickiest thing is to put the licence keys for playing mpeg2 into it to allow you to watch DVDs. Bear in mind that you will not be able to store much data onto the PI unless you use an external drive or network attached storage.

I think that this is over priced for what it is. Most of those streams are available as add ins to XBMC that are easy to set up. There is about £30 worth of hardware there. Have a look at http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Raspberry_Pi/FAQ#Installing_XBMC_on_the_Raspberry_Pi for details on setting one up yourself. I would suggest the OpenELEC.

If you are going to try yourself. I would suggest Noobs http://www.raspberrypi.org/introducing-noobs/ as the best way to get it onto your PI. Very simple and easy.
