Knock out a 1665mm wide window, cut brick out and replace with 1 french door and window to floor combination custom size. UPVC

Plastering plus moving a radiator across.

£2125

Couple of prices been a similar ball park but seems quite high for what is probably a 4 hour job and a bit of plastering.

Does this seem acceptable?

4hrs, and the rest! You also have to remember your not necessarily paying for the time it takes, your paying for the knowledge and experience gained over the years, if it's that quick and easy and just a bit of plastering then you have a go

The guy doing it said the actual window knock out and brickwork removal and door fit will take 4 hours.

The other 2 hours max will be the plumber and plasterer.

But yes guess you pay for the experience.

No it is not acceptable they are trying to rip you off, go elsewhere. I just paid a similar sum for a new boiler supplied and fitted which took them around 6 hours and they are the most skilled and highest paid tradesmen as we all know.

Who's making good the door brick reveals? or are you having the cut on show? if having them built (as it should) he will have to come back and fix the lower frame and seal when brickwork sets, the price seems ok to me and you do seem to be getting similar quotes.

Did he bring along a Bricklayer/Plasterer/Window fitter/Plumber

But the OP isn't having a boiler fitted, in any case from my experience with plumbers and electricians too is they seem to pluck figures out of nowhere

Not sure what you mean about brick reveals?

He is only cutting brick below the window, not to the sides or anything, there will be no new brickwork or anything just removal of under window brick to allow the door to be fitted.

The question has already been answered in that all the other quotes are similiar. So yes it's a reasonable price . Honestly not sure he's gonna get that done in 4 hours though so many variables.

@Eccles ... if you think its overpriced what would you think would be a good price ?
