Ariston Dishwasher Door will not open

Having searched I cannot find the answer on the forum

The door release of an Ariston Dishwasher will not release the door.

Any suggestions. I assume removal of hinges may work.

At this moment I do not have the model of the machine. So generic solution if possible please before I go and look at it.
