Ariston Eurocombi - Hot water problem!

Hi

I moved into my house about 6 months ago, and there is an Ariston Eurocombi fitted. Unfortunately the previous owner did not leave any instructions.

The problem is this - the only way I can get hot water is by switching the heating onto constant. When it is on timed (without the heating operating at the time), the water runs cold.

I'm conscious that this is probably making my heating bill rather large, and will be like living in an oven in the summer every time I need to do the washing up!

If anyone can shed any light on this problem I would be very, very grateful!

sounds like your divertor valve is stuck - can try cleaning but usually a replacement about £120 + vat

Is it easy to find the diverter? Since I haven't got the manual I wouldn't know where to look - perhaps I need to get a professional in...!
