ariston micro genus 23

I have the micro genus 23 which is about 4 years old. It has started to give cold water occasionally instead of hot. The boiler fires up ok but no or very little hot water comes through. It also makes a sound like a fart when it fires!!! Sometimes the boiler also fires up when there is no demand from heating or hot water. The switch is set to e not c so it is not that. Any ideas?

If it farts then there is a problem with the combustion mix of gas pressures.

This could or could not have a bearing on hte boiler heating hot water.

When it fails is there any fault code etc.,?

When I say it farts, it's more of a buzz. No fault codes come up at all. I have noticed that when the hot water goes cold and the boiler is running then the heating pipes(one of them) get hot so the heat is going somewhere.

Thanks for that. Would a diverter valve service kit sort it or is it better to replace the whole valve? Is the valve the same from a 32mffi as someone has a new one for sale cheap!
