Armourcast bath - screw legs to base?

No instructions provided, and seemingly none online for this Armourcast Reinforced bath.... Presume you just screw these bars onto the base? Predrill? Gulp!

That looks like a self tapper.
I suspect that it has a timber base bonded into the bath?

Why not email them to check?

Yes - usually the base has a guide marked.

Small 1/8th part, should fit far enough into the chuck so it won't be long enough to drill through the base. Even then, if it is then depth mark the drill to the same as the screws.
 
No guide marked on base, but I put em on 250 mm from each end of the baseboard.. Used a bit of gaffer tape around drill bit... All fine, until I came to fit the legs... The bolts are too long / the bars too short (so bolts foul on bath) to get the bath set to a sensible height. Gonna have chop 50 mm of each bolt.....

Who designs these things??
