Are you patching it up or are you doing another room similar?
I've used many things from scrunched up bin liners to flip flops. But if you're just trying to patch then I think you could do that with a brush. It doesn't have to be that wide.
Ways to make that pattern are..
Bag over a stipple pad.
I myself bought a pad with rubber fixed over from a company to side about.
Also seen a mop rolled between palms flicking about.
There are a few ways to make that pattern and mix is not thick.
Small patches I sometimes used a roller but it's the most varied pattern there is. Never been able to match it.
