Artificial grass on concrete

Hi All,

I want to lay some artificial grass on my concrete yard - turn my prison exercise yard into a bit of a garden! - see the photo below (I will be moving the heap of soil)...

My plan was to glue some underlay to the concrete around the edges and then glue grass to that. I was going to use Evostik or something similar once I've cleaned the concrete.

Does this seem like it will work? Would you lay it over the manhole covers? Cut around them?

And can anyone recommend any good grass? Looking to spend £15 to £20 a sq. meter ideally. No kids or anything just using the garden at the weekend for BBQs etc.

You could just paint it green and then add some pot plants etc.

There's a guy around the corner from my old place who did this. It didn't look as bad as i thought it would actually!

Its okay to lay it over the manhole. The best part of this is that you really need to do some hard work to clean that mess from there.

I hadn't thought of that. It will definitely be cheaper but will probably take as long to paint it all, especially with the (northern) UK weather!

That' s good to know, will definitely make laying it easier then if I go for it. I have started getting rid of all the soil but I have limited containers to take it to the dump in so it's taking a while.


Any recommendations for good quality/price artificial grass??
