Looking at that board, I thought it was some kind of old chipboard but just want a 2nd opinion on if that looks like a type of asbestos board? The AIB I’ve seen before hasn’t looked like this, what do you think
Just bought a test.Fibre board maybe. Used after the war as cheap and available.
I'd say it likely to contain asbestos. Get it tested

Asbestos doesn't have any particular 'look' or appearance. It's impossible to determine if asbestos is present from a visual inspection.
Asbestos was used in a vast number of building materials, and can still be found in many older buildings.
However asbestos contained in solid materials such as a board, tile or other hard substance has minimal risk unless you were cutting or drilling into it.
The risk is even smaller if it's been painted.
The highest risk are things like pipe lagging and other insulation which was sprayed on - any damage to that and it crumbles away to dust.
Woven or spun matting type insulation is also high risk, as the fibres are not enclosed.
Boards, corrugated sheets and other solid building products are very low risk as the asbestos fibres are held together by the cement or other materials used in them.
The problems occur when they are cut, drilled, sanded or similar as that is what separates the asbestos from the rest of the materials.
