Aspirin

I think it depends on your general health. Even low dose aspirin has side effects, e.g. increased risk of stomach bleeding, stroke etc.

I take low dose aspirin if I fly long haul to protect against DVT, but not sure I'd want to take it daily.

Give your missus one every night.

Give her aspirin too.

Everyone aged over 45 should consider a small daily dose of aspirin to help protect themselves against heart disease and cancer, a panel of experts suggested yesterday.

If this is the case, though, why are the NHS not recommending that all the 45+s take aspirin daily? I note the comments pertaining to certain individual's reactions re stomach ulcers etc, but the treatment of bowel cancer and others cost the country annually many millions.

If you have any kind of stomach problems then don't take aspirin. The stuff is like battery acid

Same advice applies to all NSAID's (non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs)
EG Ibuprofen and paracetamol.
