Attaching a detached garage?

Silly question but wanted to check.
Currently have a single garage (single brick) separated from the house by a circa 1m wide walkway.

If I wanted to block either side of the walkway up, and extend the garage roof over to join to the house… would this need planning?

Probably.
Just phone the local planning department and ask. They are helpful. No charge for advise.
