Hi, I've done a quick search of the forum, but can't quite find the specific answer to my question.
I am starting a raised decking project on a sligltly sloping surface from my back door which is about (70cm from the ground) out 2.4 meters where it will probably be about 30cm higher. It will be the entire width of the house which is 6 meters, in two sections one section 3m x 1.2m and thw other 3m x 2.4m
I will be attaching a ledger board 150mm x 50mm to the house using M10 x75 rawl bolts, every 450mm
I will have a row of posts at 1000mm centres at the 'front' supporting a 150 x50 rail/joist from which the joists will hang at 400mm centres to the ledger. And a suplementary set of similar supports in the middle i.e. 1.2meters out from the house.
My question is do I need to provide any further support for this ledger i.e. posts or will spacing the fixings every 450mm be enough. The house is approx 1920s build and the brickwork is in good condition. I suppose what I'm asking is, is the wall strong enough to support one end of the deck?
Many thanks
