Hi
Couple of questions
We are looking to put in 2 stair gates, 1 pressure (similar to the Img 1.) the other has hinges and latches (similar to Img 2.).
One side would be against a banister, the other the plaster wall
1)
Would you attach these directly onto plasterboard (with brick behind) or would you mount them on planks of wood to spread the load, especially of the pressure fixed gate?
2)
At the top of the stairs, the banister turns 90o then goes up a further 2 steps before meeting the landing. Due to this there isn't a newel to fix against, only spindles (so similar problem to Img 3.) how would you attach a stair gate here?
Thanks
