Attic fans help needed!!

Hi there,
I'm planning to fit a attic fan in my attic but I'm facing a problem that I don't have the needed knowledge about attic fans i.e. what rating and type should I use for proper ventilation in the attic which is 400 sq. ft. Also I want to know which is better Solar Attic Fan or an electric one. Please suggest me the right thing to do.
