Please can anybody advise if it is OK to install a DU144 Automatic By-pass valve in a vertical position, on the pipe between my pumped flow before the 3- way valve and the cylinder return pipe (as shown on attached picture)

Thanks

I have TRV's on all radiators and I think that not having a Bypass is causing my boioer to cut out.

Thanks for your help

Sorry, I also have a room stat which i have set just above the required temperature to ensure that it the pump is always being called for heat, otherwise as you say it all shut off and the house get cold.

Still trying to add a photo of my proposed addition of a by-pass[net]

On the radiator in the area where the room stat is you shouldn't have a TRV. This radiator will act as the bypass, just remove the head. You can add a bypass as you say but I wouldn't bother.

sorry mate its a nonsense to put a by pass on a y plan...as suggested make one of the radiators a bypass by removing the trv. it should be the radiatir where the theemostat is...

yes , but it doesnt belong there

listen to andygasman2010 , this is what you need to do

you dont want to stop your room stat from turning your boiler off by trv in this area shutting down first

this will cause boiler to cycle on boiler stat through your intended bypass valve...not very efficient

Thank you to all of you for your advice.

Somehow, the information being given is completely 'bypassing' your conciousness. :D

What the hell, waste your sixty quid on parts and a whole day installing it, then most of another day on here asking how to get air locks out of your rads. You seen determined.

If it was me I would rather spend the 5 mins pulling the head off of a TRV to get the same effect.

its not even the same effect , putting bypass valve in makes system much worse than just simply removing the head where room stat is
