Avensis ashtray removal, how to?

The front ciggy lighter in this car isn't working. I've metered it and I'm getting no live or earth. it's on the same circuit as the rear lighter, which works ok.
My theory is that the plug has fell off the rear of the lighter, which swivels on the rear of the ashtray.
It's not a big deal but a bit awkward to charge my phone from the rear lighter.
So, has anyone had to remove one of these, does the fascia just prise off?
I don't want to do any damage to the ashtray or fascia and just want to make sure I do it the proper way, without having to force anything.

I managed to do it today. It was a piece of cake and the fault was just as I suspected i.e. the plug was lying loose. It was probably never on in the first place.

At the bottom of the gear lever, at the back, the part nearest the handbrake, just put your fingers in the the shroud and prise up the whole gear lever surround.
