Folks,

Need some clarification on supplementary bonding, if a dwelling is serviced by a plastic mains water pipe, and plastic water pipe is used throughout the dwelling for the central heating and the hot and cold water feeds, what bonding, if any is required for a bathroom comprising of the following items of note:

1. 10.5KW shower (switched/isolated via a pull cord and protected by a 50A MCB on the RCD side of a split C/U).

2. An extractor fan (ceiling mounted in zone 3, IP56 rated and Class II).

3. A radiator in zone 2 supplied via a plastic pipe and 6" rising copper tails to the TRV and isolator.

It may assist with any advice, to consider that due to the layout of the shower enclosure it is physicallly impossible to touch the radiator whilst standing in the shower.

I would appreciate any advice, which could help.

Tony

You need supplementary equipotentially bond the circuit protective conductors of all circuits supplying class 1 and 2 equipment in the bathroom such as the shower to the light to the fan/lighting circuit (unless it is SELV).
The radiator does not need to be supplementary bonded unless it is in contact with a metallic building structure.

(and boldface doesn't work in post titles btw!)
