Back boiler removal

[CONFUSE]

Hi I have an old baxi back boiler 1983!!.I am having a vaillant combi fitted and an electric fire and surround fitted.Some of the quotes i had said they would just isolate the old back boiler and leave it in situ and some said they would remove the boiler.Is it the norm to leave an old boiler in place?.many thanks.

I take them out but it is quite acceptable to leave them in.

council (at least the council i work for does) always take them out but we need to so the new fire will fit

Get rid of it so you're not farting around when you want to put a nice inset gas fire in there....it's just lazy.
