Hi
The plaster beside the stairs at my parents house has to come off, its completely not bonded to the wall anymore you can just hook your hand behind it and pull off chunks and every time someone walks up the stairs you can hear a little cascade of sandy dust. Getting the stuff off therefore wont be a problem the trouble is it maybe a fair time before it gets re-plastered as there is an extension to be built.

Am I right in what I've read that the best way to seal the bare brick to prevent dust is to paint is with diluted PVA? If so what kind of mix what do I dilute it with and I take it my local DIY stores will sell the required ingredients?

Thanks for your help
