Hi,

The backer boards are now installed for my shower.

For the joints, do I just use tape or do I need some sort of waterproofing over the tape please? Is silicone in the joints a no no?

Also, the Grohe concealed shower has some waterproof templates to go over the controls. What do I stick that down with?

Thanks!

You can get a tanking tape that goes over the board joints. What boards have you used? They sell a tape in wickes. But I don't usually bother. I use hardiebacker and it doesn't move and the tiles are the waterproof layer.
What does the grohe MI's say you should attach their seals with? I'd have thought silicone.

Usually you would just use a scrim, have the boards been offset fitted? Silicone down the corners and along the bottom
