Further to my thread about webuyanycar.com. I have now sold the car to a trader (not webuyanycar.com)

He/she is collecting the car tomorrow and is offering to pay me by BACS transfer prior to collection. I will be able to determine the money is in my account before releasing the car.

My question is:

If the money appears in my account is it there to stay?

Are there any circumstances for some reason it might be sent back to where it came from?

Thanks

Mike

No it is not there to stay if the funds are not cleared.

Be very careful, has the funds cleared? Check with your bank. If so you should be OK, if not I doubt very much if the bank is going to be down the money they lodged into your account? Do you?

Delay moving the car, contact the buyer and give a reason why you want to delay collection (not the actual reason) this will give you time. If the deal is genuine it shouldn't be a problem. If its not genuine you will be on the winning side.

Best of luck

just tell em,YOU WILL NOT RELEASE THE CAR UNTIL FUNDS ARE CLEARED.i wouldnt, hindsight can be a wonderful thing. ;)
if he agrees then i would say there genuine,if they kick up a stink then im afraid alarm bells would be ringing.
