Hi. Recently move in. During decorating, I loosened some 2 gang sockets in the hall and lounge.

A few days later, I noticed 2 stopped working, no power.

Tonight, I was replacing a new single gang in the hall, and noticed it had 3 live, and 3 neutrals to it, which seemed strange. I wired up the new single gang, all working. The two 2 gangs then started working.

Seems they are getting their feed from the wiring in the single gang, is that normal? Why would someone do that and not just run cabling to the sockets?

Ok, probably.

Well, from the supply via the single socket.

Yes, perfectly normal.

Why would someone do that and not just run cabling to the sockets?
Isn't that what they have done?

I recommend checking all the connections again.

I just didn't expect the supply from one to feed others.

Thank s
