Bad smell from ground floor toilet

Hi all
Can anyone tell me what amount of ventalation is required from a standard system as i don't seem to have any and feel that this is my problem, as i found air blowing back up the soil pipe were my ground floor toilet is situated

The standard is 110mm, at the head of the system, at a level higher than the highest window opening.

Sometimes you can get by with less (diameter), but if you don't have to then it's not worth trying to.

It's not so much strange as wrong, i.e. you're not alone with the problem, but it's most definately one that you should resolve, for health reasons.
