It is true what they say is'nt it?

Chefs generally are bad tempered, possibly due to it been a hard and stressful job.

Where I work I remember there was one instance on a busy summere evening the chef was getting very frustrated and a massive wooden spoon was getting inthe way..............so he responded by picking it up and throwing it saying "IT'S BIGGER THAN THE F*****G KITCHEN!!!!!!

We recommended a posh restaurant to a friend, he went there with his son, the next day I asked him if it was ok, he said it was great but they didn't get any food!!.
they got there and were seated at their table, the waiter was taking their order when shouting could be heard from the kitchen, it got loader and loader until suddenly the chef came flying thro the door from the kitchen followed by another chef, they continued to fight all around the dinning room in a cartoon style, you know, a ball of arms and legs, they landed on their table a few time taking the table cloth with them, they finally got broken up and everyone got invited to a free drink at the bar and went home to beans on toast, but had a great evening.

A friend told me of an evening out in eastern Europe.

Half way through the meal something seemed to have happened in the kitchen and while waiters continued to serve food it was obvious all was not well. Then police and ambulance crews rushed into the restuarant and through into the kitchens. A chef was manhandled out followed by another chef on a stretcher. The story was one chef had thrown a pan of hot fat at another chef during an argument. But the restuarant kept serving food as if nothing had happened.

Mind you though I had always thought to myself, Gordon Ramsay-what a right ta*t he must be to work for-a few months later I saw him in the Saturday sport been named as...... "T**t of the day"....

But there again though, I only do kitchen portering, mainly washing up, and the landlady etc say 'He's the best dishwasher we've ever had'

Next time i'm out to eat i'll check my food for bits of chef!

that Gordon Ramsay is famous for his foul language, how sad is that.
I worked as a k.p when I was a kid, chefs are full of their own self importance, one night service was finished and we were clearing down when someone last minit turned up, said they'd like the fish, the couple left were already in the slops bucket, you could just make out the tail of one sticking out the top of this grey sloppy bile which the chef grabbed, put under the tap and then under the grill, served up with a twist of lemon new potatoes and greens and the punters sent their compliments to the chef
p.s my wife was a chef sssssh!

I,m not a violent man, but there are one or two TV chefs that could do with a good slap. How do people put up with being spoken to like that.
If in any other job someone went on to an employee like that they'd be up for a victimisation tribunal.

Jumped up spud peelers... :D

I work as a gas engineer and the largest part is within the catering industry, its very true "chefs" are bad tempered.
It is mostly down to stress and long hours, though some are just pillocks.
The worst are the English and Scottish, I personally find Italian, Indian, Pakistani and Greek the most pleasant, Chinese most of the time  .

On entering a kitchen I treat the "chef" with respect as it is his kitchen and he/she needs me there to repair a breakdown, the moment any temper or disrespect heads my way then Im off for replacement parts and leaving them to stew

the best cook is your mam :D  you can shove chefs up your stew and simmer them there for ever

My girlfriend's daughter worked in production on Hell's Kitchen. In real life away from the cameras - Gordon Ramsey is quietly spoken and doesn't swear.

The grand illusion that is television, Producers will encorouge that sort of behaviour as it makes "good tv" these days (unfortunately).
