There's a brick arch over my windows formed by three black bricks, then two red, three black and so on.
To emphasize the pattern I've pointed them in sand & cement using red or black dye respectively.
Problem is although most of the dark coloured bricks are fine (they're actually dark purple), oddly two of them are red where the dark bricks should be.
If I paint them black they inevitably won't match the others.
Question is, should I 'bag' them in sand & cement with a black dye , and what mix should I use?
The bricks are a smooth finish. House is about 200 years old.
Thanks for any advice.
