Is the balanced cold connection on an unvented cylinder ok to be taken to the kitchen tap outlet? / A water foundation/ colder?

Can I ask does the balanced cold come off from the composite valve. After the pressure reducer and before the single check valve? So isn't effected by any heat from the cylinder. So is seen as potable water?

Where does your water main enter the house?

Before the check valve with a composite set, it will be "unbalanced" after a cylinder reheat, you might have 3.0bar before the check valve but ~ 4.0bar and even higher if the EV is losing its precharge pressure but as soon as a few litres of HW is run off then its a balanced supply again.

It would be awkward to take mains to the drinking water points. Just wondering if water taken from the balanced cold connection, is seen as potable?

Yes & Yes .... typically, the balanced cold supply would taken from the balanced feed off of the back of the combi valve.
