Hi DIYers,
Apologies if this is in the wrong sub-section.
I have to get a balcony rail made for a small 2nd floor balcony - Would it be reasonable to use these decking rail inserts as a basis?

I'm considering getting someone to weld (and bolt) some of these together using a 20mm x 5mm steel bar/strap at the top and bottom, with angle brackets at corners, then putting a wooden handrail on top to make it look better - The overall size is only 120cm x 60cm, so I'm thinking it should be OK. The front will be supported on the "landing" . The back will be anchored it into the uPVC door frame using high-tensile steel bolts. The alternative is to anchor it to the timber framework which is covered with synthetic slate, so not the preferred option.
Before I commit - what do other people think ? Are the vertical parts rigid enough ? Is this feasible ?
