ballcock diaphragm wich way ?

just been fitting a new ballcock diaphragm in the loo, and was quite sure if i put it in the right way round, is it the side that pushes out easier that goes towards the cone thingy ?

Look at the rim of the new diaphragm one side normally has a fine groove or lip, when you look into the valve body there is a thin raised ridge that fits into it.
